Please join us for a screening of Waging Change - a film by Peabody award winner, Abby Ginzberg, documenting the campaign to end the subminimum wage for tipped workers and ensure all workers receive a full minimum wage with tips on top. With America facing the highest level of income inequality in the nation's history, Waging Change presents a timely depiction of the plight of the nation's lowest-wage workers and their fight to receive a livable wage and not have to rely on tips. Here in New York, Governor Cuomo just announced that he would enact a full One Fair Wage for tipped workers in NY state except restaurant workers - the workers with the highest rates of sexual harassment featured in this film. Following the film's premier at DOC NYC to a sold-out crowd, Waging Change is beginning its national tour on the morning of February 24th at the Ford Foundation and that same evening here in Albany at the State Capitol Albany Room. Join us for refreshments, film screening, and panel discussion with the filmmaker, several of the film's main characters, and other notable panelists!
